Led by an Operator
Founder and Principal Advisor
TLS Rx Advisory Group was founded by a pharmacist who has run the programs she now advises on.
Trina Stewart spent eight years at a national Medicaid health plan, rising from Health Plan Pharmacy Manager to Director of Health Plan Pharmacy Operations. She led pharmacy strategy for a Medicaid-dominant book of business, held a voting seat on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and directed oversight of PBM partners on contract performance, pass-through reporting, and service delivery.
Her work combined the clinical and the operational: formulary and utilization management decisions, prior authorization policy, specialty drug management, HEDIS performance, and readiness for state Medicaid and CMS reviews. Under her leadership, pharmacy HEDIS performance improved 23 percent in twelve months, and a focused review program recovered $302,900 across 51 cases.
She founded TLS Rx to give health plan and PBM leaders what she wanted as an operator: an independent advisor who has sat in their chair, reads a contract the way the plan will be held to it, and delivers findings a leadership team can defend.
Dr. Stewart holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from Xavier University, an MBA from Western Governors University, and a Juris Doctor. She serves as an instructor and preceptor for pharmacy students and holds pharmacist licenses in four states.
